MAGUMONI MUSINGS: MAGUMONI PARISH and PRAYER CENTRES

ST. THERESA OF CHILD JESUS PARISH

I stay at the parish of Magumoni. With Fr. Xaviour being the priest in charge, the parish and its mission centres (prayer centres) are taken care of by CMI priests. Under the parish there are four major prayer centres. Magumoni is the name for the area. The nearby town, few hundred meters from the church is a placed called Kibugua. The main church for the area is in a location called Kathatwa.

The Parish Structure: Parish and Prayer centres and missions

Every weekend there are five masses, including the four at prayer centres. Three of the prayer centres switch the mass between the centre and their missions every week. Once the schools are open there will be an additional mass for the children at the main church.

The Parish church is a big church built over many years of effort by the people. It was blessed in 2006. All the prayer centres have permanent structures for the faithful to gather to worship. I will be adding those pictures later.
