Here are some more photos under landscape. Remember the greenery you see in the photos are mostly in and around Mt. kenya region. The plains to the northwest are mostly deserts.
Our parish sits on the western slopes of Mt. Kenya, in between every hillock, there is a rivulet. This is the Rugothi River, near to the church. It is a very steep trek of more than 800 ft to reach the River.
When you drive from Meru to Noromoru - you see peaks of Mt. Kenya on your left. I tried to capture some shots on a clear day. If you look closer you will see glaciers - yes even near the equator.

On the way to Makutano from a town called Embu, you will pass these beautiful paddy fields in Mwea. This is a vast area of rice cultivation done through irrigational canals.
